Set within a quiet residential context along the river Leie, this project reinterprets an existing dwelling through a careful dialogue between architecture and landscape. While the street façade remains restrained and introverted, the house gradually opens toward the river and surrounding fields, revealing its spatial generosity from within. The design unfolds through a sequence of transitions rather than singular gestures. Views are deliberately framed to draw light, water, and greenery deep into the home while preserving privacy. The existing volume is subtly extended, integrating an additional storey within the roofscape and softening the boundary between interior and exterior. An intimate patio forms the heart of the house, mediating between architecture and nature. From this central space, the living areas unfold along a clear axis toward the landscape, creating a layered sequence of compressed and expansive rooms. Landscape and architecture are conceived as a continuous system, reinforcing a calm, timeless living environment.
